Engine Maneuvers

The course trains the participant to access each pier in all types of weather [within the limitations of the vessel] and to sail safely in the various areas with marine traffic congestion.

The course will cover the structure of the vessel above and below the water line, including its capabilities and limitations, the forces acting upon it and the various options available to the skipper as a key to smooth docking. An in-depth introduction to The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, which is an essential tool to prevent marine accidents. Knowledge and understanding of the limitations of the various vessels, from a boat to a ship, which enables realistic expectations of their performance at sea.
